The wait is seemingly over! Shannon Sharpe is set to join hands with the popular ESPN personality Stephen A. Smith on First Take according to multiple reports. Sharpe shockingly left Skip Bayless and Fox Sports 1 after reaching a buyout deal with the network. And now, 2 months after his exit from Undisputed, he has seemingly found his next home.

According to Andrew Marchand and Ryan Glasspiegel of the New York Post, Sharpe will debate Stephen A. Smith on Mondays and Tuesdays on First Take during the NFL season. The former Denver Broncos tight end recently left the Fox Sports show Undisputed after he co-hosted the show with Skip Bayless for the last seven years.

It is unsure what prompted Sharpe’s split with Skip Bayless. But the popular belief is that Sharpe has grown tired of Bayless antics. And, Bayless’ insensitive tweet after the Buffalo Bills DB Damar Hamlin suffered a cardiac arrest on the field is seemingly the last straw that broke the camel’s back.

Nevertheless, it won’t be the first time for Sharpe to appear on the ESPN show First Take. Back when Bayless was hosting the ESPN show, Sharpe used to be a guest on the program. In fact, Sharpe’s chemistry with Bayless during his guest appearances is what convinced Skip to eventually work with him as a permanent partner in Fox Network per reports.

When Sharpe left FS1 back in June, Stephen A. Smith openly expressed his interest to work with Pro Football Hall of Famer. Sharpe also expressed interest to join forces with Smith. Although, Sharpe’s move to ESPN is not official yet. Neither Sharpe nor ESPN have publicly commented on the topic yet.

On the other side, the Undisputed host Skip Bayless has also reportedly found his new verbal sparring partner. The former Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman has agreed to a verbal deal with Fox Network to replace Sharpe.

Apart from Sherman, the former ESPN reporter Rachel Nichols is also expected to have a presence on Bayless’ show. Furthermore, Undisputed which will be back on television from August 28 will also feature the Hip-Hop legend Lil Wayne on Fridays.
