Dak Prescott's return sees Cowboy seal a 24-6 victory over the Lions
Sunday saw the return of quarterback Dak Prescott to the Dallas Cowboys lineup where the team managed to come out on top against the Detroit Lions by a comprehensive margin of 24-6. This also marked the first time where Dak Prescott played a game from start to finish this season.
The fans were elated with Dak’s return to the squad even though his performance was rusty, probably due to coming back from an injury. Dak Prescott had missed out on the previous five games due to a fractured thumb on his throwing hand.
While the scoreboard wont justify how close the game was fought by both teams, it was the charm of Cowboys defense again which has helped them grab the fifth win in seven tries. It has become a trend of Cowboys defense to produce spectacular performances every week. This time it was the rookie Sam Williams who was the star of this game with two sacks, a forced fumble and fumble recovery, three tackles and two tackles.

The game was pre hyped due to Dak Prescott’s return, but it was anything but flawless for the 29-year-old quarterback. One has to keep in mind that returning from a thumb injury at the quarterback position is not an easy task.
Prescott was not bad or anything. He was just not his usual best. He was able to complete 76 percent of his passes for 207 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions at 113.2 passer rating.
Overall, the Cowboy’s offense was shaky, which was up against probably the worst defenses currently in the league. The passing game was troublesome, and the way the play-calling was done, it came out as panicky as best.
Then again, with the way the defense was playing, Prescott and company didn’t have to worry about doing the heavy lifting. The claim that Cowboys defense is one of the best in the league goes louder.
The game was surely the Cowboys’ defense show, but that doesn’t take away the pre-game focus-Dak Prescott. His return on the field was lauded by the NFL fans and pundits alike.
Dak Prescott would have likened to produce a more stellar performance, but a win’s a win. Cowboys’ division on the other, i.e. NFC East is the only division currently across both conferences where 3 of the four teams have managed to grab atleast 5 wins by week 7. Speak about a pack of dominators!
The Cowboys’ next encounter will be against Chicago Bears, while Detroits will face Miami Dolphins on the last Sunday of October.
