Madden San Miguel, popularly known as “Baby Gronk”, did an interview on the ‘Bring the Juice Podcast’ a while back with his father, Jake San Miguel. While answering the questions, Jake kept dictating Baby Gronk’s responses.
Baby Gronk has been an Instagram sensation with his workout videos and photos with famous sports personalities. He, along with his father, went on a tour and visited most of the major colleges throughout the country.
However, his video with LSU gymnast Livyy Dunne almost broke the internet, and since then he has been the talk of the town. Everyone wants to know who Baby Gronk is and if he’s even real.
Meanwhile, Jake, who is a self-taught digital marketer, frequently DMs influencers in various forums for collaboration. According to him, it increases the “brand value.” This became evident when golf hotshot Piage Sprinac revealed that she had received similar messages.
During their recent appearance on the Bring the Juice podcast, host Frank Dalena asked Madden if he really was Baby Gronk. to which he replied “Yes” very meekly. It seemed like Jake did not like the way his son answered. So he framed an answer: “What kind of a question is that? Just look at my Instagram!” Jake then demanded Dalena ask the question again, and Gronk spoke in a manner that suited his name.
This was repeated several times throughout the Twitch clip shared online. Jake kept feeding his son answers and showing him to speak in the same way. This behavior did not go down well with the netizens, as some even labeled it as ‘child abuse.”
Social media is furious with Baby Gronk being controlled by his father Jake
The narrative was already building about Jake San Miguel controlling his son, as evidenced by prior interviews. People were quick to criticize the Fresno native for his bullish attitude toward his son as if a bird is locked in a cage.
Many did not hold back after the latest clip.
Few even compared this with the famous feud between former New York Jets player and American Businessman LaVar Ball and his son Lonzo Ball.
Besides the outrage on social media, football analysts like Warren Sharpe condemned Jake San Miguel’s behavior. He tweeted that the whole situation is cringe-worthy, and the father is only in it for himself.
Barstool Football’s Bussin’ with Boys show host Will Compton had a similar reaction.
Not too long ago Jake tried to woo Compton for allowing them to come on their show, but he refused the proposal.
Barstool’s Tommy Smokes shared that Jake has been trying to catch their eye since 2019.
Moreover, Daily Mail reported that FOX News’s NFC South reporter, Greg Auman, also had the same sentiment about the situation. He said that Baby Gronk’s dad wants attention, but the kid doesn’t need it.
UFC Hall of Famer Daniel Cormier said that Baby Gronk will eventually come to resent his father if he doesn’t manage to achieve his dreams.
Jake, however, says he is doing everything for his son. He even believes that if Baby Gronk doesn’t manage to become a successful football player, he can be a new-gen influencer or YouTuber.
What the future holds for Baby Gronk, only time will tell.
