Former Giants RB Tiki Barber CLAIMS the ‘sensitive & shallow’ Aaron Rodgers won’t be able to handle the New York sports media if he joins the Jets

The New York Jets are reportedly doing everything in their power to acquire the Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers. But the former Giants running back Tiki Barber warns the Jets that Rodgers wouldn’t be able to handle the adversity of New York sports media. Barber said this just a few days after the Packers QB took a shot at NFL insiders Ian Rapoport and Adam Schefter.
Just a few days ago, Rodgers made an appearance on the Pat McAfee Show where he put the insiders on blast for not knowing sh*t. “When it comes to me, they don’t know sh*t, they don’t have people in my inner circle who are sources. I can promise you that,” Aaron Rodgers said. Both Adam Schefter and Ian Rapoport have a good reputation in the league, but they do annoy the players sometimes with their “breaking news” antics.
Moreover, Aaron Rodgers has been the center of the media for the wrong reasons for a lot of time. Both NFL insiders Rapoport and Schefter have been regularly commenting on the 39-year-old QBs future in the league. So, one can understand where the frustrations come from and why the 4-time league MVP snapped at them like that. Furthermore, Rapoport also understood the sentiment and said he took no offense from the incident.
However, Rodgers snapping at NFL insiders doesn’t sit well with Tiki Barber. The former Giants running back warns the New York teams that the Packers QB won’t be able to handle NY media.
Tiki Barber warns the NY teams about Aaron Rodgers
During a recent episode of Barber’s sports radio talk show Tiki & Tierney, the 3-time Pro Bowl running back spoke frankly about the “shallow” Aaron Rodgers taking shots at the NFL insider Ian Rapoport.
“If he is that sensitive that he gets upset that people, reporters, opinion-makers, influencers, whoever, want to talk about him, he is going to struggle in New York, and I don’t know if it’s the right fit for him. I don’t know if I want him in New York if this is going to be his reaction to things that don’t matter,” said the former Giants RB about the Packers QB.
The RB went on to say that he doesn’t want Rodgers playing in Big Apple if he can’t even handle Rapoport. “He’s not going to handle the intensity of the New York mediascape,“ said Barber. “I don’t know if I want him here ’cause it’s going to turn into a quick pain in the ass of Aaron Rodgers as thin as that – that shallow, that he’s taking shots at Ian Rapoport.“
Anyhow, if Aaron Rodgers indeed gets traded, it’d highly likely be to the New York Jets. And Rodgers’ media issues will be the last thing on Joe Douglas‘s mind who is trying to win the Super Bowl by any means possible.
