Thursday Night Football match was surely a memorable one for the New Orleans Saints fans. As the Saints tight end Foster Moreau dropped a third-down pass, right in the end zone, which he knew he should have caught. A catch that would have tied the game in the closing seconds for the Saints against the Jaguars.

With just 30 seconds remaining in the game, the Saints were down by seven points in the red zone. Quarterback Derek Carr had the backing of the tight end in the end zone, wide open in the corner. To make the catch that would have put Saints an additional point closer to tying up the score.

Unfortunately, the catch went by the fingertips of Moreau, dropping incomplete. And in the fourth down, Carr tossed an incompletion again towards Chris Olave, leading to the Jaguars winning the game at 31-24.

Saints had the opportunity to seize the game, they knew it, fans knew it and Moreau knew it as well. The tight end was seen devastated sitting on a bench with his head down, while his teammates consoled him as captured by the Amazon broadcast.

However, social media seemed to have eagerly jumped onto the stance, blaming the Saints’ tight end and poor management by the head coach Dennis Allen. It was quite surprising as everyone anticipated the quarterback to be blamed for his multiple missed throws. But, fans seemed to be hooked on that one catch that the Saints tight end missed, as it could have tied the score.

Although at that moment, there wasn’t much that the tight end could have done as the catch went by his fingertips, fans have a different take on everything that happened.

Saints fans were quite hopeful this season with a record of 3-3, but they couldn’t get their fourth win, making them upset for obvious reasons. Many fans feel bad for Moreau as one fan tweeted, “I feel terrible for him,” while another wrote, “That’s tough man…this is the hardest part about team sports. This young man will remember this for the rest of his life. Probably a 20-something-year-old kid.”

Many seemed to be disappointed by the Saint’s tight end and expected him not to play in the next game. The Saints wrap up Week 7 with a 3-4 record, perhaps the next opportunity they’ll get would be in Week 8 against the Indianapolis Colts.
