The Kansas City Chiefs have finally done it! They have exacted their revenge for last year’s AFC Championship loss and also all the nonsense about ‘Burrowhead’ and Cincinnati Mayor Aftab Pureval’s WHO DEY proclamation.
In what was a thriller game right down to the last second, the Chiefs managed to outscore the Bengals 23-20 on the last drive of the game with a field goal, which made them the 2023 AFC Champions. They will now advance to the Super Bowl to face NFC Champions Philadelphia Eagles for the most coveted title in the NFL – World Champions.
In all fairness, the Chiefs were about to lose the game once again at this stage but thanks to Bengals’ defensive end Joseph Ossani for tackling Patrick Mahomes on third-and-four which gave him a penalty for unnecessary roughness, and Harrison Butker was put in field goal range which he made easily and that’s how Kansas City won the conference championship.
Frank Clark is third all-time in postseason sacks with 13 sacks

Joe Burrow and the Bengals’ offense who were known to make a strong start the entire season weren’t able to do so because of the Chiefs’ defense. They were able to sack the Bengals’ quarterback four times on their first three possessions of the game and were able to contain him during the first half of the game. The former LSU superstar ended the night with 26 completions for 270 yards, 1 touchdown, and 2 costly interceptions.
Steve Spagnuolo’s defense was on their toes despite having troubles the entire season. Chiefs’ defense ranked 11th overall with second in sacks but 18th in pass defense (220.9 yards per game), 16th in points allowed (21.7 points per game), and 31st in allowing red zone touchdowns. However, Frank Clark and Chris Jones made crucial plays that won them the game.
Frank Clark had 3 total tackles yesterday with 1.5 sacks for the win. The 29-year-old pass rusher made history with these 1.5 sacks as he became the third all-time leader in NFL postseason sacks who now has 13 sacks to his name. He surpassed former Chiefs defensive end Terrell Suggs (12.5 sacks) to clinch the third rank. He trails former New England Patriots defensive end Willie McGinest, who is the leader in postseason sacks with 16 sacks, and former Buffalo Bills defensive end Bruce Smith with 14.5 postseason sacks.
After defeating the Cincinnati Bengals and etching his name in the record books, Frank Clark was seen smoking like Joe Burrow’s patented victory cigar as he walked into the locker room.
Patrick Mahomes will start in his third Super Bowl in his five-year career. But he will have a hard time trying to outplay Jalen Hurts who has a 16-1 record this season including the postseason. Super Bowl LVII will be the battle between the No.1 AFC seed and the No.1 NFC seed.
