On Sunday, the San Francisco 49ers, led by their second-year quarterback Brock Purdy, went against their NFC West division rivals Seattle Seahawks in their week 14 matchup. In the heated game between two division rivals, the Niners linebacker Fred Warner and the Seahawks’ wide receiver DK Metcalf got into a vicious fight, leading to an ejection.
After the game, Fred Warner’s wife, Sydney Warner, called out Metcalf for fighting with her husband. Sydney Warner took to social media to trash the Seahawks wide receiver. She shared a picture of Metcalf on her Instagram story and called him trash in a now-deleted post.

The fight broke out during the final minutes of the game. The Seahawks were trailing by 12 points and were hoping for a miracle to get out of that hole. During that crucial moment, the Seahawks QB Drew Lock threw a bad pass, which was intercepted by the Niners linebacker Fred Warner. The 49ers linebacker tried to gain a few more yards before throwing a lateral pass to his teammate.
As Warner was attempting to pass the ball, the Seahawks wide receiver DK Metcalf wrapped the linebacker and threw him into the ground. Warner immediately retaliated by shoving Metcalf into the ground, which turned out to be a bad idea.
Metcalf chased down Fred Warner and grabbed his facemask viciously. As a result, officials ejected Metcalf from the game. But Warner did not receive any penalty for shoving Metcalf into the ground.
DK Metcalf defends his ‘suplex’ tackle on 49ers LB Fred Warner
The Seahawks’ former Pro Bowl receiver DK Metcalf caught a lot of heat for his harsh tackle on the 49ers LB Fred Warner during their week 14 matchup on Sunday. Following the game, Metcalf defended his tackle during the post-game presser.
When I see a pick, I turn into a defensive player. Defensive players don't get mad when they tackle me and suplex me like that. That's what I was doing. I was making a tackle for my team.Metcalf said in the post game presser
Nonetheless, Metcalf couldn’t help his team outscore the San Francisco-based football team in the crucial game. The Seahawks ended up suffering a 28-16 loss and fell to a 6-7 record.
On the other hand, the 49ers improved to a solid 10-3 record and are currently tied for the best record in the entire league. Next, the Niners are scheduled to face the struggling Arizona Cardinals this weekend.
