The English proverb ‘Morning shows the day’ does not ring true for everyone and Caleb Williams, the USC Trojans QB, is the perfect example of it. The QB, who was the Heisman Trophy winner in last season’s college football, became a silent spectator of how things fell apart for him and his team.
Williams threw the ball for nearly 4,537 yards last season and this time around too had a good start to his team. However, their campaign has failed miserably in the latter half of the tournament.
The 2022 Heisman trophy winner’s last game wasn’t ideal either as he threw a crucial interception against the UCLA Burns in the 20-38 abysmal loss. He seemed frustrated after throwing that and expressed his frustration on the gridiron.
And now a pertinent question is hitting the air about whether the QB would play again for the Trojans. The question seems a bit confusing. In addition to this, the QB has also not cleared his college football future either. In response to a question asked about the possibility of him staying at the Trojans, he answered,
I honestly haven't thought of anything like that.Caleb Williams via Los Angeles Times
Social media angry over Caleb Williams’ interception
The social media was clearly frustrated with Williams’ poor interception. They even called the previous year’s Heisman winner, one of the most overrated to play college football.
Check out some of the comments that the fans made against Williams in the backseat of the UCLA Bruins game.
The USC Trojans played their final game this season. They finished with a record of 7-5. The team failed poorly against the top-ranked teams as Williams consistently underperformed in those games. As a result, the Trojans had to miss their PAC-12 championship game.
In this context, they would like to focus on their next season. However, the Williams’ availability question mark will be there.
