In the most shocking turn of events, the Green Bay Packers beat the Dallas Cowboys by 48-32 in the Weekend Wild Card round. It was sheer brilliance from none other than Jordan Love who handed the season end for Dak Prescott and company.
Following the loss, Skip Bayless, an ardent Dallas Cowboys fan and veteran analyst, lost his composure over the Cowboys squad. In a short video on his social media, he was seen throwing the jerseys of the Cowboys’ players into his bin. In addition, the veteran analyst called the team ‘playoff frauds.’
This is a result that no one expected. The Cowboys bagged the second seed from the NFC and were their Division’s champion. Their offense was in great form as Dak Prescott, who arguably had his best season, was connecting smoothly with CeeDee Lamb. Multiple analysts considered the Cowboys as the best team except the 49ers in the NFC. They even predicted that the Packers’ defense would not be able to handle the Lamb-Prescott duo.
However, man proposes and God disposes. In reality, the Cowboys went back to their routine of choking at the biggest stage. Their defense was horrible as it gave away 48 points. Prescott, who had a clean season compared to his last eight years, threw two interceptions and one of them was a pick-six. Though the QB threw three touchdowns, it was not enough to turn the table upside down.
The Packers took charge from the very first minute of the game
The Packers started the game with an early touchdown and kept on increasing the lead in the coming quarters. They led three out of four quarters and secured a comfortable margin in the game. It was only in the fourth when Prescott and company put on some fight but it was not enough.
Ahead of the season, the analysts did not have high hopes for the Packers due to their quarterback change. After spending 18 years on the team, Aaron Rodgers left for the New York Jets. The movement paved the way for Jordan Love, who was awaiting his regular season for three years.
In his first regular season, Love had and is having a gala time as he took the team to the playoffs. His aura was reflected in the wild card game as well when the QB thrashed the Cowboys. Love alone took a pivotal role as he had three touchdowns for 272 yards, completing 16 of his 21 passes.
