Last Sunday, the San Francisco 49ers, led by their star quarterback Brock Purdy, defeated the Detroit Lions in the NFC championship game and advanced to the Super Bowl. Following the victory, Niners tight end George Kittle used a perfect meme to describe their comeback victory.
During the George Halas trophy presentation ceremony, the Niners’ All-Pro tight end George Kittle channeled a popular meme in front of the Niners’ home crowd.

They had us in the first half, not gonna lie. But, here we are now! Let’s go faithful, we’re back baby!

The short video of Kittle’s hilarious meme reference went viral on social media and accumulated more than 6.7 million views on social media. Check out the footage attached below.
The 49ers, who have been such a dominant team this year, found themselves in trouble early in their NFC game against the Lions. At one point, the Niners faced a 17-point deficit. At that stage, everyone thought the Lions would cause an upset victory and earn a trip to Las Vegas to play in the Super Bowl for the first time in their franchise’s history.
But Kittle knew that was not how the game was going to end. NFL Films cameras caught Kittle making promises to his teammates in the second quarter that he would use the meme reference at the end of the game after completing a comeback victory.
Like he promised, Brock Purdy and the Niners were able to outscore the Lions in the second half, and Kittle was able to use the hilarious meme at the podium.
George Kittle has delivered on promise he made four years ago
The San Francisco 49ers have made it to the Super Bowl, and they will take on the Kansas City Chiefs in the title game in a couple of weeks. This will be a rematch of Super Bowl LVI, where the Chiefs defeated the 49ers and lifted the Lombardi Trophy.

After the Chiefs embarrassed the 49ers in that Super Bowl, tight end George Kittle made a promise to himself that he would come back to play in the big game. NFL Films cameras caught Kittle swearing to return to the big game on the sidelines.
I will be back here. I will be back here and I will be back with a vengeance. You will not get the best of me.George Kittle said
It took the Niners four years, but Kittle and the San Francisco-based football team have finally returned to the big game. Moreover, they will be facing the same team that defeated them back in 2020. Now, a much-improved 49ers team will look to take revenge on the Chiefs team in this year’s Super Bowl.
