The San Francisco 49ers won their NFC Championship game on Sunday and will play for the Super Bowl on February 11 in Las Vegas.

It will be a rematch of Super Bowl LIV as the Niners look to get revenge on the Kansas City Chiefs. Although the 49ers won the game, it wasn’t a straightforward win for George Kittle and company, as they were forced to erase a 17-point deficit in order to claim victory.

The Detroit Lions came out with all guns blazing as they took an early 14-0 lead. San Francisco looked flat to begin the game, and as a result of that, the Lions dominated the first half and extended their lead to 24-7.

The Niners though turned things around in the second half and rallied back to win the game, 34-31. It was a fantastic win for them and they celebrated with their families afterwards.

Kittle, who was part of the 49ers team that lost in Super Bowl LIV, was excited to get back to the ultimate game. He celebrated the win with his wife, Claire Kittle, as the cameras captured him hugging and kissing her. According to reports, the 30-year-old NFL player and Claire first crossed paths at the University of Iowa. They eventually got married in 2019.

Kittle finished the game with just 2 receptions for 27 yards but was instrumental in the Niners’ run game with a lot of key blocks throughout the game. The All-Pro tight end will now look to win his first Super Bowl in Vegas.

They went on a 27-point unanswered run in the second half, after the Lions had dominated them in the first half, taking a 24-7 lead. George Kittle summed up the game by referencing an iconic meme in his postgame interview.

They had us in the first half, not gonna lie.
Kittle said during the team’s postgame celebrations.

In the first half, Jared Goff and Detroit’s offense appeared to be playing at a higher level than the Niners. That quickly changed in the second half, as the Niners gained significant momentum to turn the tide and win 34–31.

Now, the Niners will play a rematch of Super Bowl LIV in Las Vegas against the Kansas City Chiefs in the season’s final game. Kittle and the rest of the team will aim to win and exact revenge for their loss in Super Bowl LIV.
