George Kittle and the San Francisco 49ers were pumped up and ready to close their 2022 season with a win not just to head into the playoff with momentum but also because the tight end’s grandmother was in attendance.
The 49ers registered an easy win as they crushed the Arizona Cardinals 38-13 and will face the Seattle Seahawks in the Super Wild Card weekend. They have now won their 10th consecutive game and clinched the No.2 seed in the NFC with their latest win.
Both offense and defense of the 49ers are right at the top of their game and judging by the way they have been defeating teams left and right, it might not be an exaggeration to say that they look like Super Bowl contenders heading into the postseason.
George Kittle and Brock Purdy have an amazing chemistry

49ers tight end, George Kittle shared a special moment before the game as he was visited by his grandmother, who just turned 100 years old on January 6. The 29-year-old star shared a couple of hugs with his grandma and family on the sidelines and also clicked a few pictures. After padding up just before the start of the game, he once again went by to check on his family, which can only be described as a heartwarming moment.
Kittle had an impressive game, as had 4 receptions for 29 yards and 2 touchdowns. The 49ers’ offense has increased immensely ever since backup quarterback Brock Purdy took over from Jimmy Garoppolo as the starter in Week 13. He has been consistent in every game and won all of his encounters. His ability to find George Kittle in the endzone has amazed the 49ers’ coaching staff. Purdy and Kittle are in complete sync on the field in each game and give off a Brady-Gronkowski vibe. San Francisco may have finally found their franchise QB in “Mr. Irrevelant” but it depends on how well he can handle the postseason pressure.
George Kittle also had an impressive season as he recorded 60 receptions for 765 yards and 11 touchdowns, 7 of which have come over the last four weeks, which is the highest in the league. Owing to his stellar performance, Kittle received his 4th Pro Bowl nomination in 2022. The 49ers’ defense is in safe hands with Nick Bosa and Tashaun Gipson. Gipson caught two interceptions off of Cardinals QB David Blough, which helped San Francisco in sealing the victory.
The 49ers now await the No.7 seed Seahawks at Levi’s Stadium as they head into the postseason. The two are scheduled to meet on Sunday, January 15.
