“Get it done or I’m gone!” AJ Brown threatens to leave the Eagles if Jalen Hurts’ contract is not extended
Find out what Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver AJ Brown had to say on the Raw Room podcast along with Daren Bates and Jalen Collins
Jalen Hurts and AJ Brown
Ever since getting traded from the Tennessee Titans, wide receiver AJ Brown has been a completely different player and has formed a formidable partnership with Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts. The duo was a crucial part of the Eagles reaching the Super Bowl LVII.
In his debut season for the Eagles, AJ Brown has managed to rack up 88 receptions, 1,496 yards receiving, and 11 touchdowns. That’s his career-best statistics, and it shows he’s loving his time at the franchise.
However, much of Brown’s success is also due to his combination with Jalen Hurts and he very well knows how important Hurts is. Hence, he has issued a stern warning to general manager Howie Roseman about the contract negotiations with Hurts.
AJ Brown wants to be traded if Eagles don’t offer Jalen Hurts contract extension
Speaking on the Raw Room podcast, AJ Brown did not mince his words and made it clear that the Eagles have to offer Jalen Hurts an extended contract. He tried putting pressure on Philadelphia Eagles general manager Howie Roseman and said he would leave if they didn’t give Hurts a contract extension.
“You gotta pay, bro,” Brown said. “I love Philly. What I’m about to say … You do not pay this man, just ship me off wherever he’s going to go. So, you talk about pressure, Howie, get it done. They gotta pay him, They gonna get it done.”
Although the Philadelphia Eagles fell just short of the Super Bowl LVII this season, Brown is confident that if the trio of him, Jalen Hurts and DeVonta Smith stays at the franchise, they will be successful for a long time. Brown said their pairing is great and they must do everything to keep Hurts.
“I’m definitely going to try to do everything in my power to play as long with Jalen as I can,” Brown said. “Him and DeVonta. Me and DeVonta, we’re a great tandem. I’m definitely going to try to keep that going as long as I can. He’s up and rising — another level. At some point, he goin’ to be up. We’re definitely going to try to keep the team together and try to win when we’re together. They gotta give Jalen the house, the building, the state, the everything.”
