On Monday Night Football, the New York Giants, led by their rookie quarterback Tommy DeVito, went against the Green Bay Packers in their week 14 matchup. In the crucial home game, the Giants managed to secure a close victory against the Packers and DeVito went viral for many things including his touchdown celebration.

DeVito’s family pulled up to the MetLife Stadium to support the Giants quarterback on Monday. During the third quarter of the game, DeVito connected with his wide receiver Isaiah Hodgins for an 8-yard touchdown to give the Giants a 7-point lead. After scoring the touchdown, DeVito hit his viral “Italian Style” hand-gesture celebration.

The crowd, including DeVito’s family and agent, joined DeVito in celebrating the touchdown in Italian style. The brief video of DeVito’s family hitting the celebration went viral on social media and accumulated more than 175k views. Check out the footage of the celebration attached below.

On the sporting side of things, DeVito had a great game as he registered 229 total yards and 1 total touchdown while completing 81% of his pass attempts. He had great help from his running back Saquon Barkley 101 scrimmage yards and 2 total touchdowns.

As a result, the Giants ended up winning the game in the final seconds. With that victory, the New York-based football team improved to a 5-8 record and barely hanging on to their playoff hopes.

The undrafted rookie QB Tommy DeVito is surprisingly having a good campaign with the struggling Giants so far. He has led the team to 3 consecutive victories and is keeping them in the hunt for a postseason spot.

Amidst his remarkable rookie campaign, DeVito has earned a lot of praise from his head coach, Brian Daboll. The Giants coach told the reporters that DeVito has earned to play as a starting QB for his team in the upcoming week.

I think he’s a young player that’s doing the right things and making the most of his opportunity. He earned the right to play today, and he earned the right to play the next week. The kid’s done a good job.

DeVito has been remarkable in the 2023 NFL campaign after taking over for the injured Daniel Jones. He will look to continue his good form and lead his team to another victory this weekend when the Giants are scheduled to face the New Orleans Saints in their week 15 game.
