Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen ended their 13-year marriage in October last year. They have two children together, Vivian, 10, and Benjamin, 13. Brady also has an older son, Jack, 15, from his previous relationship with actress Bridget Moynahan. The pair started dating in 2007 and got married in 2009. Neither of them talked publicly about their divorce until now.

Bundchen opened up about her life after divorce in an interview with Lee Cowan for CBS News Sunday Morning. She talked about the divorce detailing how the pair ‘grew apart’ before their separation saying, “I think before I was more surviving, and now I’m living, which is different.” She took a step back from modelling but has now returned to it post-divorce with Brady.

“I think it’s not what I dreamed of and what I hoped for. My parents have been married for 50 years, and I really wanted that to happen,” Bundchen said about her divorce. “But I think you have to accept you know sometimes that the way you are in your 20s, it’s sometimes you grow together, sometimes you grow apart … I mean, he’s the father of my kids, so I always wish him the best, and I’m so grateful that he gave me wonderful children.”

Brady retired from football earlier this year, pulling the curtain on a spectacular 23-year NFL career. He played for the New England Patriots and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and won seven Super Bowls in his career. He has been linked with the Russian model Irina Shayk as the pair have been spotted together. Bundchen on the other hand is rumored to be dating her martial arts trainer Joaquim Valente.

“You know, I was in tunnels. I couldn’t breathe. And then I started being in studios, and I felt like suffocated.” Bundchen said. “I lived on the ninth floor, and I had to go up the stairs because I was afraid I would be stuck on the elevator, and I’d be hyperventilating … You know when you can’t breathe even when the windows are open, you feel like, I don’t want to live like this, you know what I mean?” Cowan asked if she had any suicidal thoughts, to which Bundchen replied “Yeah. For, like, a second, because you’re like, I can’t.”

Bundchen was married to Tom Brady for 13 years before finalizing their divorce last year. Since the divorce, Bundchen in allegedly dating her martial arts trainer Joaquim Valente as both of them have been spotted together multiple times.
