The Green Bay Packers proved two things this season. Firstly, that Aaron Rodgers’ departure has not resulted in them ending up as a poverty franchise; and secondly that their approach towards drafting successful quarterbacks is worthy of being studied by their competitors.
The Packers made a deep playoff run after they beat the Dallas Cowboys at home. They put up a tough fight against the San Francisco 49ers but ultimately fell short of victory.
The Packers‘ underdog season has given the quarterback faith that the next year will be better. On his recent appearance on The Pivot Podcast, Jordan Love believes the experience gained by him and his teammates this season is sufficient to lead them to a Super Bowl victory.
It's a great feeling, man. We're all very hungry for this upcoming year. Like you said, the confidence from top to bottom is there. The organization believes that it's the perfect time to have a chance to win a Super Bowl this year. Those conversations we had after that 49ers game were 'Word harder, try and find ways to get better, because next year we're gonna do it,' There's no more 'we're a young team,' there's no more of those what ifs.Jordan Love
His confidence is laudable. Jordan Love believes the team has learned its lessons from their loss to the 49ers. The mindset in the locker room now is to work hard and improve every single day. The addition of Josh Jacobs at running back and Xavier McKinney on defense has improved the team’s roster significantly.
Jordan Love and Packers now have to maintain the form
The Packers have the draft coming up as well. This will allow them to further improve their roster. There is a good chance for the team to come out on top of the NFC North if they are able to have a better season in comparison to the Detroit Lions. The Vikings and the Bears at the moment do not pose any threat to Green Bay.
The quarterback believes that this season sent a strong message to the fans and critics of the Packers. Everyone across the league knows what the team is made of now, and there is a target on their back.
The fact is that teams in the NFC would be looking forward to beating Green Bay and proving that the team’s playoff run was a fluke. But Jordan Love is certain that their hunger to win exceeds their opponents. It will not be a walk in the park for the team to return to the Divisional Round let alone to the Super Bowl, but from what has been seen of this team, the possibility of this happening cannot be completely dismissed.
