“Green Bay Packers really ruined his prime,” NFL Twitter reacts to Aaron Rodgers’ “best player in the game today’ comment on Justin Jefferson

Aaron Rodgers hugged Justin Jefferson and called him best in the game

The Green Bay Packers entered this season with high hopes under the able leadership of their legendary Quarterback and reigning MVP Aaron Rodgers and without their No.1 weapon from last season Davante Adams. Still, they were the favorites to win their division but suffered a depressing loss to their heated division rivals Minnesota Vikings.

Rodgers tried his level best but couldn’t prevent the 23-7 loss to the Vikings. Essentially, the match was decided by offensive weapons which the Vikings had in plenty. The Packers severely lacked after Adams’ departure to the Las Vegas Raiders. Aaron Rodgers struggled to find open targets. Rookie Christian Watson’s drop on the first play of the game was just the beginning as it only went downhill for Rodgers and his Packers. The fight left Rodgers when just before halftime 17 down he threw a desperation heave to Randall Cobb who was bullied by Harrison Smith on the jump ball for an interception.

The world wondered whether the loss of Davante Adams, who was the Packers’ best receiver by a mile, hurt their offense. They gained momentum after Aaron Rodgers criticized his wide receivers during the off-season. Speculations were not unfounded as the Packers’ offense’s lone bright spot besides Rodgers was running back A.J. Dillon with 5 carries for 49 yards and 5 catches for 46 yards.

Rodgers could only envy Kirk Cousins who had the luxury of throwing to Justin Jefferson who Rodgers called “the best player in the game today“. Jefferson had 9 catches for 184 yards and 2 TDs.

Twitter felt Rodgers’ pain-

For some time now Rodgers has been asking for help on the offense from the management but the team seems to decline on that front each year instead of improving although it’s a long season the Packers can make a turnaround for that to happen the Packers’ receivers will have to improve a lot.
