“Get up to a podium and apologize,” Former Packers WR strongly believes that Russell Wilson is the reason why Nathaniel Hackett got fired

In his first season for the Denver Broncos, HC Nathaniel Hackett was fired by the team after their humiliating 14-51 loss against the Los Angeles Rams on Christmas. Hackett was having a terrible season with the Broncos and, given the team’s authority and fanbase as the reason, such performance was unacceptable. The Broncos, after their loss to the Rams, went 4-11 for the season and are looking like one of the worst teams in the league.

Right from the very start, Hackett has made some brainless calls. In the very first game, he made the shocking decision to run down the clock and try a 64-yard field goal for the win against the Seattle Seahawks, which obviously backfired and the team lost. This was the ignition of a series of poor decisions, which ultimately cost him his job. While Hackett is responsible for the team’s poor run, Broncos QB Russell Wilson‘s form this season can’t be ignored.

Wilson has looked terrible all season and at times, was seen as completely clueless on the field. He has looked like a sitting duck and his performance has cost the team dearly. Even against the Rams last week, he was unable to carry the offense forward and the lack of movement is one of the major reasons for the Rams’ success.

Greg Jennings wants Russell Wilson to apologize to Nathaniel Hackett

Former Packers WR Greg Jennings recently bashed Wilson for his performance and blamed him for Hackett losing his job. Speaking on First Things First, Jennings asked Wilson to apologize to the HC as his poor performances got him fired. He went on to say that Wilson owes a lot of people an apology, but he should first start with Hackett.

“Russell Wilson needs to get up to a podium and apologize… Although Nathaniel Hackett brought a lot of this on himself, Russell Wilson, oh my god, you literally got somebody fired… Wilson owes a lot of people in that organization and that locker room,” Jennings said.

It has cost the Broncos a fortune for Wilson. They traded multiple draft picks and players and gave him a five-year extension worth more than $240 million and, by the looks of it, it has all gone down the drain. Wilson, however, has taken full accountability for his performance and it will be interesting to see what he does in the remaining two matches against the Chiefs and the Chargers.
