Aaron Rodgers‘ injury is currently the most talked-about football story in the country. Newsmax host Greg Kelly claims that he has figured out why the veteran quarterback had to limp on Monday.

Injuries are part of football. No one can predict when it will happen; sometimes players need luck. However, a section of the fans and players are blaming the artificial turf for Rodgers’ untimely departure. But Greg Kelly believes that the quarterback’s lifestyle is the reason he is in the hospital.

“A competitive quarterback can’t be all happy and goofy all the time,” Kelly said. “Something happened to this guy [Aaron Rodgers], and I think I know what it was. He got involved in psychedelics. Ayahuasca or something like that—it’s not good.”

His barrage of words did not stop there. Kelly accused Rodgers of influencing others to consume the same substance that caused his injury. “He took it, and he encouraged others to do the same,” he continued after a small clip of Rodgers discussing the benefits of psychedelics.

“I thought it was a very harmful message,” he added, and he advised the Pro Bowler to visit church instead of preaching nonsense. “Ayahuasca tea is a crummy substitute for God.”

Why is Aaron Rodgers in the hospital?

The biggest news in the offseason was the New York Jets announcement of the signing of Aaron Rodgers. He came with 18 years of NFL experience under his belt, during which he won the Super Bowl and broke several records.

He was a boon for a franchise that had not played in the playoffs for more than 10 years. But the current Jets team boasts a top-five defense and a good offense. They had both the offensive and defensive rookies of the year on their roster. The only department they were lacking in was the quarterback.

24-year-old Zach Wilson played most of the 2022 season and had a 5-4 record, resulting in another year without postseason games. So adding Rodgers, whose time with the Packers ran out, was a no-brainer.

Fans were eagerly waiting for a chance to see the four-time NFL MVP play. They finally got a slight glimpse of what they were getting in the final preseason game against the Giants. Rodgers played only a handful of snaps and threw one touchdown.

Now everyone’s gaze turned to the weak one of the 2023 season, in which they were scheduled to play the Buffalo Bills. But on the first drive, Bills defensive end Leonard Floyd‘s tackle tore Aaron Rodgers’ Achilles, forcing him to sit out the entire season. Yesterday, he went through successful surgery on his leg and will begin rehab.
