The Philadelphia Eagles faced a struggling New York Jets team in Week 6. The Eagles came in with a record of 5-0. They were the overwhelming favorites to remain the only unbeaten team in the NFL after the San Francisco 49ers’ loss to the Cleveland Browns earlier that day. However, the fiery Jets defense did not allow Jalen Hurts and co. to settle into the game and broke the Eagles’ unbeaten streak with a solid 20-14 win.

The Eagles’ starting QB, Jalen Hurts, had a terrible game against the Jets. He was picked off three times during the game and only had one passing touchdown. After giving the Eagles a 14-3 lead in the second quarter, Hurts and the Eagles’ offense failed to score again as the Jets mounted a fierce comeback and won the game. Hurts took full responsibility after the game, as he admitted to not doing his job.

“I had an opportunity and I didn’t do my job on the play.” Hurts said after the game when asked about his third and last interception. “I don’t think I made the correct read on it. But it happens, you know. It’s an opportunity for us to learn from it and grow.” He further talked about the change made in the offensive line after tackle Lane Johnson suffered an ankle sprain in the first quarter. “I think for us, you know we pride ourselves and everybody on being ready to step up when the opportunity is called. You look at this game you have so many missed opportunities and so many mistakes as if you kind of giving it away.”

The Eagles are still in a good position, with only one loss in six games. This loss to the Jets, however, was an ugly one, and they would hope to move on from it as soon as possible. They will play their next game against the Miami Dolphins next Sunday.

Nick Sirianni talks about Jalen Hurts’ game changing final interception against the Jets

The Philadelphia Eagles lost their first game of the season against the New York Jets on Sunday. They came into the game with an unbeaten record. However, the Eagles succumbed to a feisty Jets defense as star QB Jalen Hurts had three interceptions during the game. His third and final interception was a devastating one as that gave the Jets a great field position to ice the game. Head coach Nick Sirianni talked about it after the game.

“I know Jalen’s going to want that play back, obviously,” Sirianni told the reporters. “I thought that was pretty much the only turnover that was on him though. We need that back in that critical time, he’s going to want that back. We want that back. If the play doesn’t work, we’re going to look at ourselves as coaches first and say, ‘Was that the right play?’ That’s part about being accountable and I know Jalen’s looking at himself in the mirror as well.”

The Eagles will play their next game against the high-flying Miami Dolphins. It is going to be a tough one for them, but a win against the Dolphins will boost them immensely.
