The New York Jets are going all in to win the Super Bowl in the 2023 season similar to the 2021 Los Angeles Rams. The Jets announced a few weeks back that they are signing Aaron Rodgers to be their starting quarterback.
Additionally, the Jets also added a lot of weapons on the offense including Allen Lazard and Mecole Hardman. There are also a lot of rumors that the New York-based franchise is looking to add free-agent wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. to the fold as well.
And on these multiple developments, ESPN analyst Harry Douglas said on First Take that the Jets will be the team to beat if they add Rodgers as well as OBJ to the roster. “If Aaron Rodgers is there along with Odell Beckham Jr. I think they do become the [Super Bowl] favorites,” Douglas said.
“You now look at a group that not only adding you know playoff experience you talk about Super Bowl guys as well. Aaron Rodgers has a Super Bowl appearance and win on his resume. Mecole Hardman, he has two Super Bowls. Look at OBJ, he has a Super Bowl win. So, not only are you adding more pieces, you are adding guys with experience in the playoff along with the Super Bowl.”

The Jets are yet to come to terms with the Packers for Aaron Rodgers
Aaron Rodgers went through the same cycle of being unsure of returning to the Packers for another season. However, he finally broke the cycle and revealed on The Pat McAfee Show that he intends to play for the Jets. This might mark the end of his 18 years in Green Bay.
Despite being almost one month since Rodgers expressed his interest in playing for the Jets, the deal is yet to go through. The Packers and the Jets have been in and out of negotiations but didn’t find a middle ground.
The Packers apparently want a clean break from Aaron Rodgers and aren’t willing to pay any percentage of his massive $60 million salary. Fans are elated at the prospect of having the 4x NFL MVP play for their team but one league executive believes that Rodgers won’t bring any changes to the Jets who have a 12-year-long playoff drought.
“Rodgers is not as good as he was, but he will bring life to that place. The first year, the honeymoon year, is going to be fine. It won’t blow up the first year. It will be better,” the executive said via The Athletic.
For things to change in New York, they must first sign Aaron Rodgers. Let’s see when the trade is finalized and if Rodgers becomes the knight in shining armor that everyone expects him to be or not!
