“He makes some valid points about Colin Kaepernick,” Shawne Merriman backs Antonio Brown’s take on troubled 49ers’ QB
Antonio Brown’s comments on former San Francisco 49ers quarterback, Colin Kaepernick made the headlines throughout the week in the world of NFL. Kaepernick, who has been out of action from the NFL since 2016 has made himself available to return to the pitch in the upcoming season.
However, this has not gone down well with many involved in the NFL, due to Kaepernick’s official tussle with the league. Former Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver, Antonio Brown spoke out against the quarterback in a series of podcasts throughout the past week.
Shawne Merriman believes Antonio Brown made some valid arguments against Colin Kaepernick
Brown has now received support from another NFL star, Shawne Merriman, a former Los Angeles Chargers linebacker. In an interview with TMZ Sports, Merriman sided with Antonio Brown’s perception of Colin Kaepernick.
Antonio Brown called out the quarterback for his trash football skills and believed that he had old himself out when he decided to take the settlement offered by the NFL after accusing teams of blackballing him for his on-field political statements.
“He makes some valid points about Colin Kaepernick, saying that, you know, he took the money from the NFL. The settlement. The Nike commercials — all these things,” Merriman said.
“Well, I think a lot of people think that way about all the other stuff that Colin Kaepernick has going on, and the opportunities that he’s had to get back in the NFL, and just haven’t. We get the message. But people aren’t trying to listen to the messenger. If you listen to what he said, he actually made a couple of valid points in there.”
