The San Francisco 49ers have been facing a lot of criticism since they lost the Super Bowl game against the Kansas City Chiefs. After losing the thrilling championship, the team is facing backlashes for their unawareness of the OT rules.
Amid this situation, Brock Purdy opened up regarding the crucial OT loss that the team had. His emotions reflected that he was heartbroken. The quarterback did his best to lead the team to the Super Bowl. Nonetheless, he failed to strike glory despite gaining a late touchdown.

Commenting on what went wrong for the team, Purdy said:
Obviously the game. How we came up short. I also tried to have the perspective that this is happening for a reason. It is a part of all of our stories and testimonies. That is the hope I have forward.Brock Purdy said to the reporters
Acknowledging the great time that the team had on the gridiron, the quarterback stated:
We are grateful for the kind of a season we had with the great guys in the dressing room, the organization and the team. We got into the Super Bowl but failed short in the over time. Sucks! But we gave our all this season.Brock Purdy added
The quarterback truly had a great season. He was one of the MVP frontrunners. In addition, he broke multiple records for the franchise. Last year, the 49ers failed to win the NFC championship as Purdy left the field early due to an injury. This season, he fulfilled the void he left last year.
Brock Purdy felt sorry for his mistake
Despite all the contributions, Brock Purdy felt that he made a mistake. He did not target the wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk much in the final game. There was a time when Purdy chose to throw the ball to Jauan Jennings on a third-down incompletion instead of Aiyuk. He later regretted it.
Purdy said:
More than anything, I was just telling them I was sorry and I pray we have an opportunity again together to get back and finish it. That’s something I have to learn from and be real with myself. I told BA, ‘Obviously I wish I hit you there or at least attempted to go to you.Brock Purdy said

Despite failing in the last stage, the quarterback won the hearts of the fans and the analysts. That might certainly be enough to get the motivation for the next season.
