Retired NFL coach Herm Edwards made the shocking statement that he would pick Deshaun Watson over Joe Burrow any day, even though the former has been bombarded with lawsuits after he allegedly sexually harassed 23 women. Herm also claimed that he does not care for Watson’s six-game ban because of it.
Both Watson and Burrow had decent seasons last season, which definitely enhanced their claims of being the best in the game. Speculation about Burrow becoming the highest-paid QB in the NFL keeps on rising as the Cincinnati Bengals have picked up the fifth-year option worth $29.5 million to sign him. Currently, the highest-paid player in the NFL is Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson, who earns a whopping $52 million a year.
On the other hand, Deshaun Watson, who did well for the Chiefs but has not been that prolific for the Browns since the draft, remains optimistic and reminds people that the six missed games don’t define who he is or what he is capable of.
In a recent interview on Twitter, the 27-year-old quarterback discussed his performance and future with the Browns. “You can’t define my career by six games!” Deshaun Watson stated in the interview, “That’s how it be when things don’t go your way and you know people have their own opinions. But like I said, I’m gonna keep a smile on my face. I’m gonna keep showing love, and none of that stuff is gonna break me, man. I am who I am, and people know who I am.” Watson believes he still has lots to give to the game and to the Browns’ fans. Finishing in the playoffs will definitely guarantee that.
Herm Edwards says he would pick Deshaun Watson over Joe Burrow if he starts a franchise

The former New York Jets coach, who also managed the Chiefs in the early 1990s, said that he would rather have Deshaun Watson on his team than Joe Burrow. The 69-year-old, who played as a cornerback during his time, said that allegations against Watson did not change his decision to put the Brown QB ahead of Burrow.
As of now, only one out of 22 lawsuits remains, and the rest have been dropped. Watson had to pay a record $5 million fine. He also had to sit out a total of 11 matches as additional punishment.
