Every year, there is one thing that never changes in the NFL. This issue is one that brings together fans from all teams and unites them. It is the issue with the officiating crew. The league continues to receive complaints regarding the referees but they either dispose them off by issuing a clarification and do not take action on the officials in case of a bad call.

It was the same thing again in the Houston Texans matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars in week 12. This game had a lot more ridiculous calls than the average game. The game ultimately came down to a missed field goal, however, given that this game would have given the Texans an edge over the Colts in the AFC South, it was important.

In the third quarter of the game, Trevor Lawrence threw an interception to Derek Stingley Jr. This play should have been flagged as Evan Engram, the tight end for the Jags, was being held by safety Jalen Pitre. As the game went on, other calls by referees enraged fans and the crowd began to boo the officiating crew.

The Houston Texans were close to pulling off a comeback against the Jaguars

There were a total of 13 penalties called for 84-yards with the Jaguars receiving 6 of them for 35-yards and the Texans receiving seven for 48-yards. In a game that extremely entertaining to watch as C.J. Stroud went toe-to-toe with Trevor Lawrence and almost made the Texans come back from a deficit, the refereeing ruined the experience.
