The Carolina Panthers pulled off an amazing win against the Atlanta Falcons last week winning 25-15 at the Bank of America Stadium. This was just the third win of the season for the Panthers who are 3-7 for this year.
Post the game cameramen caught an interesting sight wherein veteran quarterback Baker Mayfield was going around congratulating his fellow teammates engaging in friendly headbutting. However the weird thing was that Mayfield was doing so without a helmet!
Fans on social media were left stunned by this incident and many questioned what exactly is Baker Mayfield made of. The quarterback will be starting against the Baltimore Ravens in the absence of injured PJ Walker.
Baker Mayfield loves giving teammates headbutts even if it’s with his bare head
Speaking on the incident after the game Baker Mayfield said that this is something that he has been doing for a long time. However this time the difference was that it was caught on camera. Former Browns man Mayfield added that he’s going to continue it even if his teammates do not like it!
“I’ve always done that, it just so happened to get caught on camera,” he said. “I’ve done that since college. I love this game. I love my teammates. We work too hard not to enjoy it. Yeah, a good headbutt every once in a while goes a long way.”
“I don’t know what that says about me,” he added “But I enjoy it. So if they don’t like it—well, that’s just too bad. They’re getting a headbutt anyway.”
“It’s pretty important to win, considering we’re still in a division race,” Mayfield said earlier speaking about his future at the Carolina Panthers. “That’s where I’m at. I’m not worried about everything else. It’ll take care of itself as long as I do my job. We’ll see where it goes.”
