Playing to your strengths is quite important in the NFL as every position is intricate and important. Though some players excel in every position and Taysom Hill is one of them.

Taysom Hill was a free agent when he went undrafted in 2017, later he joined the Saints where he has played in countless positions. In 2019 alone, he played in 10 positions including RB, FB, TE and QB which is his natural position.

New coach Dennis Allen has introduced some changes in the team, and Hill playing TE is one of them. Before this, Hill adopted a hybrid position but now he’s primarily a true Tight End. The 31-year-old is looking forward to the new role.

“I feel like I can do everything I need to do right now,” Hill said. “It’s just being able to handle the volume that I’m going to be asked to do, so we’re just trying to gauge what that is and what that looks like. Overall, I’m very happy with where my foot is.”

Hill is just coming back from the Lisfranc injury that he suffered last season. He was expected to return to practice in the offseason but he also suffered a rib injury. However, Hill is a true fighter who’s back again on the field after recovering from his injuries.

The 31-year-old has a different challenge now, he’ll have to adapt to a new position quickly as only a month remains before the season kick’s off.

“I’m just starting to ramp up again and take it one day at a time,” Hill said.

I think the element of my game of playing quarterback, there was a physical element to that, but it’s a completely different mindset playing tight end versus quarterback,” Hill said. “There’s certainly a mental element to (tight end), but a far more physical element to play in that position than the quarterback position.”

Taysom Hill is going to play his sixth season in the NFL. His versatility makes him one of the most important players on the field and his adaptability and will to fight is the reason he has thrived in the Saints team so far.

New Orleans Saints will be looking to beat the Falcons in their first game of the 2022 season on 11 September 2022.
