I think it’s great”: Pete Carroll talks about having a good attitude toward a bad situation

Pete Carroll is in a rough situation. The Seattle Seahawks traded Super Bowl QB, Russell Wilson, away and now have Geno Smith as the starting QB. To add salt to their wounds, the team has to travel all the way to Germany to play a regular-season game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as part of the NFL’s international games. Seahawks fans will have to be up at 6:30 AM local time to watch it.

Pete Carroll is still optimistic about the situation, he views the glass to be half full even when he is stuck with not the best team in the league. The coach addressed the media on Friday from the rookie minicamp of the team.

“I think it’s great, I’ve never been there so I’m looking forward to the trip like everybody else. I have a really good thought about going overseas because we’ve done it before, and we had a great trip when we went to London. The way our people handled it, you’ve got to get a lot of priorities in order and our guys did a fantastic job the last time so, I’m holding a good thought.”

“It’s the experience of a lifetime for everybody here. As far as [German native and linebacker] Aaron Donkor is concerned, it couldn’t be sweeter. Obviously, he’s going to carry the flag out to open the game. At least he’ll be able to translate for us, we look forward to it and we’ll try to make the most of it.“

In 2018, the Seahawks beat the Raiders in London, 27-3. Carroll has a got an attitude about not the most ideal situation, that is how the coach is. He has a positive attitude in general but just thinking about it, traveling all the way to Germany to face Tom Brady and the Bucs is nothing short of a challenge.

Since this is in Week 10, there is a chance that the Seahawks will not have the best record in the league, however, it will be much more interesting to see who the team’s starting QB is. If Geno or Drew Lock are unable to handle the expectations, then there could be a possibility of the team considering trading for Baker Mayfield.
