“I’m not labeled as the best receiver at this point, but…” Justin Jefferson desires to be the best WR in NFL
Justin Jefferson performs 'the Griddy
Justin Jefferson is a brilliant player in a team that is not performing well currently. Justin wants to win games and earn the title of the best WR in the league. “I’m not labelled as the best receiver at this point,” he said. “So that’s my motivation, just becoming the best receiver and being the best teammate for my team. Just doing stuff to provide for my team and just trying to get to my main goal.”
Justin has had the best two-year start in NFL history. He has 196 catches, 3,016 yards and 17 touchdowns. His receptions are tied for the most ever while his yardage totalled a record for a player in the first two seasons.
The 23-year-old has everything to be the best except a good team. Vikings have had a dismal record in the league with 15-18 in the last two seasons where they missed the playoffs for both years. The team has struggled a lot with mediocre staff, coaching and ultimately the players.
“Just coming from a winning team and having a losing record was definitely difficult for me” Justin stated about his switch from LSU to the Vikings.
Justin has had a drastic switch in Teams. His LSU team went 34-7 during his three years in college and a 15-0 national championship season in 2019 before he got drafted for the Vikings in 2020. Justin is desperate to win games and ultimately compete for the Super Bowl.
“Yeah, it was difficult,” Jefferson said at the start of training camp on Wednesday. “Just coming from a winning team and having a losing record was difficult for me. But I’m ready to change things around. We’re all ready to change things around, get back to that old Vikings team that they used to be, by getting to the playoffs and competing for that main goal that we’re trying to reach.”
There’s hope for the Vikings this season as they have got a new coaching staff and they also have made some improvements to their current team. Justin still has to sign a new contract as he is in his last year, maybe he’ll look for a team that can keep up with his skill.
