“Injury bug bites LA Rams”: Van Jefferson another addition to the list

The LA Rams are not having the best of times. The Super Bowl champs were already concerned about their Quarterback’s elbow but now they have another injury on their hands.

Earlier Matthew Stafford, the QB who led the Rams to win the Lombardi in his first season with the team was rested from team practice at the team’s training camp at UC Irvine. Which the Rams coach Sean McVay said wasn’t a major concern but they were just taking precautions as they wanted him healthy and ready to go at September 8 where Rams begin their campaign against the Buffalo Bills.

Wide Receiver Van Jefferson to undergo knee surgery

Van Jefferson

Wide Receiver Van Jefferson will undergo minor surgery on Tuesday after he injured his knee as informed by Coach Sean McVay. The injury is on the same knee that had problems which Jefferson played through during the team’s Super Bowl winning campaign last season but the injury is in another area per McVay.

McVay said the team expects Jefferson to miss a “a few weeks,” but he had no definite timeline for the receiver’s return and whether he will be available at the start of Rams season against the Bills at SoFi stadium. There will be better idea regarding Jefferson’s recovery after the surgery.

“It was really positive news that we got on him,” McVay said “He’s in good spirits. We’ll get his knee cleaned up tomorrow.” Jefferson had informed at start of training camp that he had surgery on his previously injured knee during the offseason and was ready to go.

The Rams will be hoping for a timely recovery for Jefferson and Stafford.
