NFL Insider SNUBS CJ Stroud’s claim by stating Bryce Young will be the #1 pick for Carolina Panthers

C.J. Stroud and Bryce Young are two of the most valued quarterbacks in this year’s NFL draft. Both the QBs have an exceptional resumes and have performed well in their collegiate career.

Many believe that the No.1 overall NFL draft pick will be from one of these QBs. The Carolina Panthers will select first this year and they need a strong QB who can start from week 1 itself.

According to NFL Insider Jonathan Jones, Bryce Young will be the No.1 overall pick over the talented C.J. Stroud. Although Stroud has been great in college, the Alabama Crimson Tide QB is a different deal altogether. Young was a back-to-back Heisman trophy finalist and also racked up the most passing yards in a college football game. “When Panthers traded up from pick 9 to pick 1, they had Bryce on their mind,” Jonathan Jones stated on the NFL on CBS.

The Panthers have avidly started to favor Bryce over Stroud for many reasons. The Carolina-based team feels that they are more compatible with the Alabama QB instead of the Buckeyes QB.

C.J. Stroud was fighting for the No.1 overall pick a few months ago. Now it seems like he won’t even be in the top 5 due to recent reports that favor Will Levis more than him.

C.J. Stroud set to lose the No.2 overall spot as well

The QB battles for the draft pick are getting really interesting this year. In hindsight, there is no standout QB this year for the NFL draft and that makes it a fair competition for everyone else. However, C.J. Stroud just got the short end of the stick due to the recent S2 cognition test.

Stroud failed massively in the test and scored around 18% while other QBs were exceptional and Bryce Young recorded a near-perfect score of 98. This test can make a huge impact on Stroud getting drafted.

The Houston Texans have the 2nd overall pick and it is believed that they are leaning towards QB Will Levis over C.J. Stroud. Still, the news isn’t confirmed yet and anything can happen on the day of the draft.

There is also a possibility that the Texans will draft a defensive player instead of a QB. This will push C.J. Stroud’s position even further and can even move him from the top 5.
