The protagonist of the movie Kurt had two brothers and all were brought up by a single mother. Kurt was madly in love with the game and played well during his high school days. He then showcased his talent at the University of Northern Iowa but was taken aback when he went undrafted in the NFL.
However, the star QB had faith in his craft and in his abilities. To make ends meet, he started working as a grocery stock boy but kept training hard along with it. Eventually, he was spotted by the Rams, and the rest, as they say, is history. Kurt went on to become the greatest undrafted player in the history of the league.
American Underdog perfectly captures the spirit of the man who did not lose heart when things were going downhill. From a grocery stock boy who was unable to impress any of the franchises in the NFL, to the only undrafted quarterback to lead his side to a Super Bowl title, the movie tells quite a story.
Moreover, it wouldn’t be wrong to say that American Underdog is not only for sports enthusiasts, it is for all the single mothers who fight the world to allow their children to work on their dreams, it is for every youngster who is gifted at his craft but is failing to reach where he wants, it is for every human being who is in need of “hope.”
The fact that it is a true story makes everyone think if he can despite all the roadblocks, why can’t I? This is exactly what makes The American Underdog a special story of an ordinary yet extraordinary man. Talking about his personal wife, Kurt Warner’s wife is Brenda Warner, a US Marine Corps corporal.
