“It was just a practice” Aaron Donald tried to deemphasize his brutal helmet swinging incident in a practice brawl
Aaron Donald
Aaron Donald is considered the best defensive player currently in the NFL. The Rams defensive lineman was clear about his priorities to focus on the next game of the new season.
“It was just a practice. It was football,” Donald said Wednesday in an interview for an upcoming episode of the AP Pro Football Podcast. “I don’t really wanna go back to nothing negative that happened and talk about something that happened in a practice. My main focus is Buffalo.”
It felt like Aaron Donald didn’t care about the intensity of the situation when he made that comment. The Rams and Bengals had a joint practice in which a brawl started for various reasons. As the practice was open for the viewers they could see the star defensive linemen swinging helmets at opposition players like they were a couple of apples. The Bengals players were lucky that no one got injured or hurt during a brawl.
The three-time defensive player of the year was then pushed to the ground after his theatrics got way out of hand. The two coaches then put an end to the practice session as the brawl was getting out of hand.

Myles Garrett had done a similar incident of helmet swinging and he was suspended indefinitely. Many people were asking the same of Aaron Donald but the rule states that if a brawl breaks out in a practice match then the teams will have to handle it and not the league. So, it’s highly unlikely that Aaron Donald will face any punishment.
When Aaron Donald was asked about his motivation for the new season he said that he wants to win it all over again. “Just trying to relive all that over again, trying to accomplish that, being a world champion all over again,” Aaron Donald said. “That’s the biggest motivation.
“I was motivated to get there, but once you accomplish that and you get to see what that feels like, it makes you want it that much more. So that’s just the motivation, just to relive that all over again.”
Aaron Donald is currently focused on preparing for his first game of the season against the Buffalo Bills.
