“It Was Surreal”, Davante Adams Expresses Unhinged Happiness After Returning To The Las Vegas Raiders
The story of the friendship shared between Davante Adams and Derek Carr goes back by a proverbial mile. From whitewater rafting that could have very well been the death of both to reconciling at the Las Vegas Raiders, it is going to be a friendship cherished. After a mixed season with too many allegations at the Packers, Davante Adams was traded back to his former franchise.
Las Vegas Raiders will be taken care of by the new head, Josh McDaniels where the arrival of Adams would be propelling their hopes. Hopes of doing better than just a playoff spot, a feat that the Raiders have achieved just twice in the last two decades. His arrival at Las Vegas bolsters the chances of Derek Carr to produce extraordinary figures, especially with the towering stature that he cuts through.
Here is what Davante Adams had to say about returning to Las Vegas Raiders
Talking about his return to the Raiders, Adams was heard quoting, “I’m not here to be Superman. But the first time Carr walked to the line at training camp and looked over to see his old friend in a Raiders uniform, the quarterback says, “It was surreal. Like, ‘Oh, my gosh, I can’t believe we’re doing this again.’ Then the first touchdown I throw him, I’m like, ‘Here we go. This is just the start.'”
Raiders suffered a string of hefty blows to off-the-field antics in the preceding season. It all started with the departure of Jon Gruden, followed by the forceful guillotine dropped on Henry Ruggs for killing a woman and Damon Arnette for brandishing guns on social media. All these factors came together to cost them their play-off spot in the wild-card round against the Cincinnati Bengals.
Carr highlighted all these pointers and quoted, “I mean, we had loss of life last year. We had a young player lose his career with a life-altering decision. We had our coach’s situation. We had a first-round pick waving guns around. … In my nine years with the Raiders, I’ve had to answer questions that I don’t think anyone should ever have to answer, especially at 20-something years old. But now that Davante’s come and the coaches have made it just all about the ball, it’s been refreshing for me because I’m not answering questions about this controversy or that. I’m literally just answering questions about football.”
