What was meant to be one of the more historic days in the history of the Kansas City Chiefs ended up becoming one of the more tragic days. As part of the team’s back-to-back Super Bowl victory celebrations, the customary parade took place as scheduled but a shooter wreaked havoc as he ended up opening fire which resulted in one person losing their life and upwards of 20 individuals being injured.

Amidst all the chaos, one person emerged as a hero. To make it more clear, an unexpected hero. Jackson Mahomes, the brother of Patrick Mahomes showed a side of himself that the public did not know existed. Once the shooting began, there was chaos at Union Station; a fan who was taking part in the Super Bowl parade along with her child quickly hid by the trains.

Co-incidentally, Jackson Mahomes was also hiding behind the train but he had with him a child, a child that had separated from its parents and was scared because of the chaos around him. Jackson was helping him calm down by consoling him and taking care of him. This brings out a respectable side of Mahomes, who has consistently found himself on the wrong end of the stick.

Jackson Mahomes’ actions are commendable

For the longest time, Jackson Mahomes has been a controversial figure because of his shenanigans. The fans of the Kansas City Chiefs, the team whose brother is the face began to despise him as a result of his actions that have been dubbed as immature and irresponsible. The final nail in the coffin was when allegations of him creating a nuisance at a restaurant surfaced.

Jackson was charged with three felony aggravated sexual battery charges along with a misdemeanor battery charge. He allegedly shoved a waiter and kissed the female owner of a restaurant in Overland Park. This incident created a lot of waves and further damaged Jackson’s reputation.

But, in this instance, what he has done is commendable. In a rough situation like that, he could have run, he could have scrambled for his own protection thereby leaving the child. But he understood what was happening and made sure that the kid was calm and that there was an adult right there to take care of it.
