Deshaun Watson was suspended from the NFL for 11 games as the QB was accused of sexual misconduct by more than two dozen women and it violated the league’s personal code and conduct policy.

With Watson suspended, QB duties were appointed to back up QB Jacoby Brissett, and he excelled. Brissett performed exceptionally well as the Browns’ starter. He threw for 2,074 yards, eight touchdowns, and five interceptions with an 87.1 passer rating.

The Browns have to give Deshaun Watson a new five-year $230 million contract, which will guarantee that the QB will play most of the games. Watson has returned to practice as the QB is nearing the end of his suspension and there are lots of speculation around the starting spot.

Recently, Jacoby Brissett was asked about Deshaun Watson joining the training and the backup QB had a hilarious and sarcastic response. “We’ll see. If it’s bad we’ll tell him to stay in for the rest of it. No, it will be fine.” Brissett stated in his press conference.

Brissett still has pinned down the Browns’ QB spot for the next two games against the Bills and the Bucs. Deshaun Watson won’t be back until the Texans game in early December.

Many speculated that there will be loads of drama in the Browns’ locker room when Watson will be back from his suspension, but that has not been the case yet.

Jacoby Brissett understands his role at the club and is ready to share QB duties with Watson once he returns to the fold. Brissett was recently asked about balancing practice sessions with Watson.

“How do I? That’s not my job to balance it,” Brissett said prior to Wednesday’s practice. “It’s coach’s job to balance how he splits things up and stuff like that. I just have to go out there and prepare like I always prepare. Do my job and then control what I can control. That’s something I can’t control, and I’m honestly not trying to.”

It seems that Brissett is fully prepared for the upcoming transition when Watson will start the games and has no problem taking up the backup role again.

“Oh, yeah, for sure,” Brissett said. “We’ve talked about a lot of things going into practice about how things will be split up, and I feel confident that I’ll be more than fine going into the game.”

The Browns are currently facing a dilemma as they have two quality players in the same spot and will have to choose the better player. However, Brissett is set for the next 2 games in the NFL.
