Monday night marked Trevor Lawrence‘s 46th straight start to his NFL career. However, it ended abruptly at a crucial moment of the game in the fourth quarter.
Lawrence has been one of the first names on the Jacksonville Jaguars team sheets since he became the first pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. The Duval might even argue that it was one of the best pieces of business the franchise has done since it came into existence back in 1995 as an NFL expansion team.

The Clemson product has gone from strength to strength since then, improving the Jaguars offense year by year. 2023 could prove to be their best start to a season since 2017, in which they lost the conference final. Most of the credit has to go to Trevor Lawrence.
A section of football analysts were on board with Jacksonville making a very deep post-season run. Their next opponents were the Cincinnati Bengals, who were without their #1 QB, Joe Burrow. So backup Jake Browning started the game at TIAA Bank Field on Monday night.
There was little to choose between the two teams (28-28) with just 5 minutes left to play in the fourth quarter. Unfortunately, Lawrence went down, clutching his leg, and stayed down. Shortly after, a couple of staff members helped him up as he hobbled off the field and into the tunnel.
Social media in shock as Trevor Lawrence walked to the medical room after the horrible injury
The ESPN camera crew switched to the in-tunnel camera crew, who filmed Lawrence with the same two Jags staff shouldering his walk. What’s intriguing is that there was no cart in sight. Not only did any medical vehicle roll out in the field to carry Lawrence, but even inside the tunnel, he had to walk on his two feet to reach the infirmary for a checkup.

This angered a section of social media and Jags fans. If Lawerence is Jacksonville’s franchise quarterback, then he should be getting better treatment. They were shocked to see no medical cart used to transport the Pro Bowler.
Backup quarterback CJ Beathard took over the QB duties. Jacksonville eventually lost the game in overtime, 31-34. Lawrence had thrown 258 yards and two touchdowns before leaving.
After the game, Head coach Doug Pederson regarding the injury said,
I don't have any information yet on Trevor Lawernce's injury. We are still evaluating him. You know we will get some tests done here tonight and tomorrow. So we will have a better update for you tomorrow.
The Jaguars are now 8-4 with the loss against the Bengals. They will face the Cleveland Browns this Sunday.
