The former Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is one of the greatest players to ever throw the spiral. Thanks to his dedicated work ethic, the 15-time Pro Bowler was able to achieve unprecedented success in football. Another reason he was able to achieve that kind of success is due to his leadership and the bond he created with his teammates.
During a recent episode of the Rich Eisen show, Tom Brady’s former Patriots teammate Jakobi Meyers recalled the cool moment he met the seven-time Super Bowl Champion for the first time.
“Honestly, that was kind of a cool moment,” Meyers said. “It wasn’t really a full conversation, but I remember my first time seeing him. He came in the locker room, and he knew all the guys’ names. I mean, I was an undrafted guy when we had all types of players on that team that year. Just for him to know all the undrafted players’ names, he knew all of our names and he showed love to us so, I definitely appreciate him for that.”
Meyers only played one year with the legendary QB, since Brady left the Patriots to join the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2020. Meyers finished that 2019 season with just 359 receiving yards.

Jakobi Meyers was signed with the Patriots in 2019 as an undrafted free-agent receiver. After Tom Brady left the Patriots for the Bucs, Meyers had to play for three different QBs in New England, but the talented WR managed to put up solid numbers every season.
During his four-year stint with the Patriots, Meyers caught 235 passes for 2758 yards and 8 touchdowns. He had his best season in 2022 when he registered 804 receiving yards and 6 receiving touchdowns.
On the back of his 2022 success, the 26-year-old wide receiver decided to test the free agency and got rewarded handsomely. Meyers signed a 3-year $33 million contract with the Las Vegas Raiders where he will be catching passes from Jimmy Garoppolo.
“That was definitely a big (draw),” Meyers said about his decision to join the Raiders. “Not even just him (Davante Adams), though. You’ve got Hunter (Renfrow), you’ve got Josh Jacobs, Jimmy G. There’s a bunch of guys on that offensive side of the ball that I was really excited (to play with).”
The 26-year-old Jakobi Meyers is entering his prime and will be playing alongside some of the best offensive players in the league currently. Meyers is a true No. 2 wide receiver and will certainly be a huge asset to the Las Vegas-based franchise.
