Philadelphia Eagles first-round pick Jalen Carter faces legal action yet again as a former Georgia University staffer has decided to file a lawsuit against him for fleeing the scene of an accident and offering no help to those injured.

Carter was involved in a case of reckless driving and racing in January which took the lives of former Georgia player Devin Willock along with Chandler Lecroy who was a staffer at the university. Lecroy was drunk while she was racing against Carter.

Jalen Carter had managed to escape criminal charges earlier, but it seems that he is not fully out of trouble yet. Carter has been selected the ninth overall pick by the Philadelphia Eagles in this 2023 NFL Draft.

Georgia University staff person Victoria Bowles has filed a lawsuit against Jalen Carter which will see him face court action yet again. Moreover, this time around Victoria Bowles isn’t just filing a case against him but also against the University of Georgia athletics association for giving permission to Carter to drive the car which lead to the fatal accident.

Despite LeCroy’s passenger, [former Georgia offensive lineman Warren McClendon], stating to him that he could not locate Devin Willock, Defendant Carter left the scene after less than 10 minutes when another UGA football player at the scene yelled at him: ‘Yo…hey, JC…you might want to go ahead and go get the f— on yo….'” the lawsuit states.

As per the claim from Bowles, Jalen Carter is at fault as he instead of staying at the crash location and offering first aid to the injured decided to flee the scene. Hence he must have to take responsibility for his actions.

As Defendant Carter was aware at the time, he was jointly responsible for the crash, and had a legal duty to remain on the scene. Instead, in part obviously fearful of bad publicity and the effect on his NFL draft status, he hoped not to be questioned or take any responsibility for his actions.” Earlier in March Carter was sentenced to 12 months of probation, a $1,000 fine and 80 hours of community service.
