After the blowout loss against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, things have been rough in the camp of the Philadelphia Eagles. Speculations are accelerating and some possible changes can hit the team in the coming time. A separation between the head coach and the team can be one outcome.
In this present context, Jalen Hurts, the quarterback of the Eagles came into the scenario and tried to sort the situation out. He diplomatically answered the question when he was asked whether the QB would love to see his head coach back.
The quarterback told the reporters:
I didn't know he was going anywhere.Jalen Hurts to the reporters
When the reporter reminded him that some speculations were going on regarding Sirianni’s job security, the quarterback added that he was not aware of that. It suggested that the QB has still not lost faith among his peers.
Despite handling things diplomatically, the quarterback could not shy away from the things that took place in the Eagles team. Be it the tussle between him and A.J.Brown or him getting indulged into a flare-up with Dallas Goedert. Things are not going properly in the Eagles team and a systematic change can take place. Sirianny could have his departure and the position of Jalen Hurts could also be unsafe.
Nick Sirianni’s coaching decisions created a lot of controversies earlier
Multiple controversies were created regarding the decisions of Nick Sirianni in the regular season. The head coach was subjected to criticism due to the inconsistency problem of the Eagles. After a healthy 8-1 lead in nine games, the Eagles won just three in their last eight games. It had a severe impact on the team’s mindset.
Secondly, the demotion of Sean Desai also sparked some controversies. Desai, as the defensive coordinator failed to maintain the rhythm of the defense. The defense struggled throughout the season. Considering the poor performance, Sirianni wanted more control over the defense and demoted the DC.
Nonetheless, the performance did not improve. There should be one who will be taking the responsibility. It is to be seen who takes that.
