The star quarterback of the Philadelphia Eagles, Jalen Hurts, is living a dream life as the 25-year-old has signed a contract with Hulu to become the face of its new ‘Hulu Has Live Sports’ campaign. The quarterback made his debut with the company through a 30-second promo on social media sites, as well as multiple sports broadcasting channels like ESPN, Bleacher Report, and Sports Illustrated. The complete advertisement will be released on September 7, during the Thursday Night Football Kickoff.
In the funny 30-second promo, Hurts was seen discovering his last name getting broken up into a newer meaning, i.e. ‘Hulu Has Live Sports’ Campaign. The advertisement also showcased how fans were cheering with the tagline ‘Jalen Hulu Has Live Sports,’ and Hurts proudly displaying his identity with a rebranded jersey and credit cards.
Speaking to ADWEEK about his latest venture, Hurts said, “I’ve seen the pieces that [Hulu] has put out over the years, and I thought it would be pretty cool to be part of that.”
“The detail they have, the quarterback position is one that requires a lot of that. It’s always cool to see it from another side and a different profession. I’m excited to see the fans and their engagement and obviously get them watching Hulu. That’s the whole point of this,” he further added.
With this latest inclusion to the new commercial, Hurts joins the bandwagon of prominent athletes who have been featured in Hulu advertisements. The list includes names like Tom Brady, Joel Embiid, Devin Booker, Damian Lillard, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Skylar Diggins-Smith and Aaron Judge, as Eagles Today report cited.
The development came a few days after the quarterback signed a multi-year deal with Nike’s iconic brand, Jordan. The promotional campaign featured Hurts with music mogul Travis Scott narrating in the background.
