“Trying too hard to be a leader” – Jalen Hurts’ leadership abilities get questioned on social media despite him taking all the BLAME for Eagles’ Super Bowl loss to Patrick Mahomes’ Chiefs

Jalen Hurts led the Philadephia Eagles to the Super Bowl last season as NFC Champions. They eventually lost to the Kansas City Chiefs and Patrick Mahomes in an epic battle. Hurts’ was great throughout the season and played well in the Super Bowl, but his fumble in the first half was a huge moment in the game. Hurts reportedly ‘insisted’ his teammates place all the blame on him. That shows leadership.
One of the Eagles’ staff members told Hurts that they wouldn’t be in the Super Bowl without him and with him as their quarterback, they will be back. Hurts had no doubts about that. Social media had mixed reactions to this though. Some people questioned the authenticity of Hurts’ leadership.
On social media site X (formerly known as Twitter), fans have had negative reactions to this and have predicted a movie on Hurts in the future suggesting he was acting and is not a great leader. There were claims that he trying too hard to come across as a leader and it is not natural. These comments don’t make sense since Hurts’ teammates have praised their QB’s leadership on multiple occasions.
Hurts was in the MVP discussion last season as his team started the season 8-0. He eventually finished as the runner-up to Patrick Mahomes. Hurts was drafted in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft by the Eagles. To lead the team to the Super Bowl in his third season is an impressive feat and the Eagles will have the expectations of reaching there again this season. They begin their 2023 campaign against the New England Patriots on September 10.

Jalen Hurts impresses in joint practice against the Indianapolis Colts

The Philadelphia Eagles will host the Indianapolis Colts on Thursday, August 24 in their final preseason game. The teams had a joint practice this week at the Eagles’ training facility. The Eagles’ starting QB Jalen Hurts had an impressive outing, going for 15-17 making some impressive throws. The practice was ended early due to a scuffle between the teams.
Hurts led the Eagles to the Super Bowl last season where they lost to the champions Kansas City Chiefs. Hurts had a great season last year and finished 2nd in MVP voting behind Patrick Mahomes. He will be hoping to lead the Eagles back to the Super Bowl and hopefully win it this time.
The Eagles take on the Colts in the final preseason game and begin their season against the New England Patriots at the Gillette Stadium in New England on 10th September. Hurts will look to begin the season on a positive note and continue his stellar form from last season.
