Joe Burrow has been a revelation since being drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals. The young QB has changed the fortunes of the Bengals and has made them a Super Bowl-challenging side.

Most importantly, Burrow has a team of loyal players who have maintained great chemistry with each other. The camaraderie between the players is so good that they are willing to take a pay cut for each other.

The NFL teams can only offer contracts to select players each year due to the salary cap. Many players are up for a lucrative deal in Cincinnati, including Burrow. However, Ja’Marr Chase has made recent statements that tell a different story altogether.

The Bengals WR stated that Burrow wants the Bengals to win, and for that, he would need all his teammates. Therefore, he has decided to postpone signing a massive deal to keep all the pieces of offense together.

“It means he wants to win,” Ja’Marr Chase said, according to CLNS Media’s Mike Mike Petraglia. “He knows what he has to do to win and he wants to win. He’s a winning guy. He’s not a quarterback that’s always interested in money and all that other stuff. He just wants to win, and that’s the big thing about Joe.”

Joe Burrow is currently one of the most valuable QBs in the NFL and can easily secure a contract like Jalen Hurts or Lamar Jackson‘s. However, the QB is not here for money and wants to actually win something with the Bengals.

Bengals WR Tee Higgins is on the cusp of being a free agent and has mere months left on his contract. On the other hand, Ja’Marr Chase also has just a year left on his rookie deal and will be up for an extension next season.

Among these concerns, Joe Burrow has decided to hold off getting a massive deal at the moment and made the retainment of these players his utmost priority.

“You want that to be a focal point,” Burrow told reporters regarding keeping Higgins and Chase. “We’re working to make that happen. You gotta have good players. It doesn’t matter how good your quarterback is. If you don’t have good players around him, you’re not going to be a very good team.”

The Cincinnati Bengals are expected to be the favorites to win the Super Bowl next season, and it will be only possible with the joint effort of the team’s explosive offense that made it to the AFC championship last season.
