NFL is just days away from the 2023 pre-season and all the teams have started training camps. That means the league is at the stage where it sees a lot of scary injuries as players began to train after a bit of a gap in the off-season. In that trend, the Cincinnati Bengals QB Joe Burrow gave a massive scare to the fans as he went down with an injury in the Bengals training camp. But wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase has provided a positive update on the talented quarterback.

Speaking with The Athletic’s Paul Dehner Jr. after the incident, the Bengals wideout Ja’Marr Chase said, “We always give each other that nod. He gave me a nod he’s all right. He’s a strong dude.”

On Thursday, the Bengals’ Pro Bowl QB went down with a scary injury and had to be carted off the field with an apparent calf injury. A lot of people are rightfully stressed out about following the scary scenes, but the 1-time All-Pro pass catcher Chase isn’t bothered. “I wasn’t really worried,” Chase said. “I believe he’s all right.”

Furthermore, the Bengals head coach Zac Taylor later confirmed that Burrow suffered a calf injury but he couldn’t provide more details about the severity of the incident. The Cincinnati-based football team would hope their franchise QB, who is up for a contract extension, isn’t seriously injured and wouldn’t miss any games in the upcoming season.

The Bengals QB Joe Burrow suffered an injury during the training camp on Thursday. He was carted off the field and was confirmed to have suffered a calf injury. Now, there’s only one question on Cincy fans’ minds. Will their franchise QB miss any time in the 2023 season?

Despite the initial looks, the Bengals avoided a disaster in the Burrow situation. A calf injury means the talented quarterback is not expected to miss a lot of time in 2023.

In fact, if the injury isn’t that severe, he could start in week 1 itself. Burrow is expected to miss the remainder of the training camp and will probably not play in any of the pre-season games, but he could potentially start for them in week 1.

The 26-year-old is entering the final year of his rookie deal and an injury could be a setback for him in contract negotiations. As of now, he is expected to sign a multi-year deal in the range of $50 million per year.
