The Cincinnati Bengals led by their backup quarterback Jake Browning are scheduled to take on the defending Super Bowl champions Kansas City Chiefs in their week 17 clash. Ahead of the crucial game, the Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase has given the Chiefs some bulletin board material.
During a recent locker room interview, the Bengals’ All-Pro pass catcher Chase was asked by a reporter what stands out about the Chiefs’ secondary. Chase took shots at the Chiefs’ defensive backs, claiming they don’t have anyone special like Jalen Ramsey.
If I’m being honest nothing. They just know how to play us. They know their leverages, they know what splits we are in and they just know what we’re gonna do in certain moments. It’s not really like they got a Jalen Ramsey on their squad.Chase said
Ja’Marr Chase always seems pumped up before going against the Kansas City-based football team. And he always ends up delivering on the field. In the four matches he played against the Chiefs, Chase has caught 30 passes for 492 yards and 4 receiving touchdowns.
He would look to put up another good outing against the Chiefs this weekend in a tough road game. If the Bengals win that game, that would better their shot at making it to the postseason despite their rough start.
Ja’Marr Chase knows what he is doing by disrespecting the Chiefs
The Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase made a statement on Thursday by belittling the Chiefs’ secondary unit. Furthermore, when reporters told him that his statement could be seen as disrespectful, Chase doubled down on his stance.
I'm just adding fire to the fuel. They're going to take this, run with it. Hope they put it in their locker.Chase said via ESPN
The Bengals-Chiefs rivalry has been steadily growing over the years as both teams have been involved in trash talks, both on and off the field. People expect a similar kind of game this weekend.
However, this time, the Bengals would be playing with their franchise quarterback, Joe Burrow. But that hasn’t stopped Chase from sending shots at his rivals ahead of a do-or-die kind of game for his team.
Nonetheless, Cincinnati’s second-string quarterback Jake Browning has been surprisingly good for his team and he would look to continue showcasing his talent.
And now, Browning would look to lead his team to a crucial victory against the Chiefs in a tough road game on Sunday. The Bengals’ playoff chances would improve with a win against Kansas City.
