Jared Goff has led his Detroit Lions to an NFC Championship game this season. The Lions, who experienced a lot of heartbreak since their last conference title appearance 30 years ago, will hope to get to their first Super Bowl this season. Since coming to Detroit, Goff has been brilliant. However, the former Los Angeles Rams‘ QB has experienced his fair share of criticism from talking heads in the media.
Sometimes that criticism is warranted, but most of the time it is dripped with personal biases. One such talking head is the Fox Sports analyst, Skip Bayless. His bold takes have always generated a lot of buzz on the internet. A lot of athletes despise Bayless for making personal remarks about them under the name of ‘criticism.’ Goff is no exception to that and he had a fitting reply to an interviewer bringing up Bayless’ tweet.
This week, Doug Karsch and Scott “Gator” Anderson, the radio hosts of 97.1 The Ticket, hinted at some juicy disrespect when they asked quarterback quarterback quarterback Josh Goff if it occasionally motivates him and the team.
Karsch tried bringing up Bayless’ tweet during the interview, but Goff cut him off and said:
Nah, I don’t care about anything he says. You can stop now. Yeah, anything those guys say on daytime TV, you can skip over that.Jared Goff said
It is safe to say that Goff is one of the many athletes who doesn’t like the veteran analyst. The former first overall pick led his team to a 23-31 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the Divisional Round of the playoffs and will start against the San Francisco 49ers in the conference title game this Sunday.
Fred Warner praises Jared Goff for improving his game with the Lions
The San Francisco 49ers‘ star LB Fred Warner is known for wrecking up great offenses. He has done so throughout his career. The All-Pro linebacker will look to do the same against the Detroit Lions this Sunday in the NFC Championship game. However, he did have some great words for the Lions’ QB Jared Goff ahead of the big game.
Warner said about Goff on Wednesday:
[He's] a lot better. Not to say that he wasn't good when we played him back when he was with the Rams, but I think he's one of the best quarterbacks in the league right now with the way that he's playing.Fred Warner on Jared Goff
He further continued, “I think, just the delivery of the football, his decisiveness, obviously with the amount of playmakers that he has on that side, I think he’s the one that’s leading that group.”
Goff this season has been phenomenal. He racked up 4,575 yards, 30 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. He completed a career-high 67.3 percent of his passes and had a passer rating of 97.9.
