Super Bowl LVII had two brothers face other for the first time in the history of the Super Bowl. Jason Kelce was the center for the Eagles and Travis Kelce played as the tight end for the Chiefs. Both brothers shined brighter than the sun but unfortunately, there could only be one winner and it was the younger brother Travis. Kansas City made a last-minute play that won them the Lombardi Trophy for the third time in franchise history.
Jason and Travis are both well-known players and are adorned by the fans equally but their mom Donna Kelce is the one who is probably loved more by the fans that the NFL pro athletes. There was a petition that was signed by more than 150,000 people requesting the league to let Mama Kelce do the Super Bowl coin toss. While it was a noble proposition by the fans, the request wasn’t sanctioned by the league.
When Harrison Butker kicked the field goal and secured the Super Bowl for the Chiefs, friends and family of players swarmed the field to congratulate their loved one and celebrate the moment with them. Donna Kelce who was sitting with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell in the suite during the game came down to the field to find her boys. It was an ambivalent celebration for her because one son’s victory came at the cost of another’s defeat.

The Kelce duo runs a podcast New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce where they talk about the weekly games and provide a unique insight to fans into the life of NFL stars. During this week’s podcast, the brothers talked about Super Bowl which was more than a game for them, and got pretty emotional during the conversation with tears flowing down their cheeks.
Jason Kelce talked about seeing their mom after the game ended and how he got emotional. “It was so awesome,” Jason said with tears flooding his eyes. “She was on top of the world for a week.” To which Travis replied, “She was the heavyweight champ man. She was on top of it and she shined the whole time man. That was the coolest part. Mom, you absolutely killed it. Dad, you’ve been killing it.”
The Eagles’ center chimed back in after gathering his composure. “It was just so cool man to see you know her get to celebrate in that with us. Just so happy for her,” Jason added. The duo talked about their family celebrating the Super Bowl even Jason Kelce who lost but did celebrate his little brother’s victory. “You lose the Super Bowl and you’re crying after the game and they’re not tears of sadness. You know they are tears of joy,” he said.
They are literally the best brother duo in the league. The way they talk about their mom and dad and the love they have for each other is something everyone can learn from. Mama Kelce is indeed very lucky to have Jason and Travis as her sons and the fans are lucky to see such a strong familial bond in the NFL.
