Losing the Super Bowl sure stings a lot for everyone, but the quarterback takes the loss a bit more to heart. The same has happened with Philadelphia Eagles superstar signal-caller Jalen Hurts as per Jason Kelce. The Eagles Center was a guest on JAKIB Sports and during the interview, he revealed that Hurts still blames himself for losing the Super Bowl.
Jason Kelce said, “I’m like, dude, you had the best performance ever for by a quarterback in the history of the Super Bowl. You did just fine. The reality is when you’re that guy, when you’re really a competitor, you think you control stuff.”
Jalen Hurts had a great performance in Super Bowl LVII and was very very close to lifting the Lombardi Trophy had it not been for a certain penalty. Hurts completed 27 of 38 passes for 304 yards and one passing touchdown. He was just as efficient on his legs, rushing for 70 yards on 15 carries for 3 touchdowns. Many believed that his performance was superior to that of Patrick Mahomes and should’ve been awarded the Super Bowl MVP.

Jason Kelce doesn’t blame the officials for losing Super Bowl LVII
Super Bowl LVII ending has been a topic for debate ever since. In the final few minutes of the game, Patrick Mahomes threw an incompletion at the Eagles’ on third and eighth. However, luck favored them as the officials penalized Philly’s cornerback James Bradberry for holding on JuJu Smith-Schuster.
The Chiefs used up the clock and left eight seconds on the clock before hitting a field goal and taking the lead 38-35. With mere seconds left on the clock, Jalen Hurts threw a Hail Mary pass but couldn’t throw it into the endzone and the Chiefs took home the victory. The holding call was said to be totally unnecessary by the majority of the fans. Enraged fans also called out the officials and the NFL for favoring the Chiefs because the same happened on more than one occasion, including the AFC Championship game against the Cincinnati Bengals.
However, Jason Kelce said that it wasn’t the officials’ fault that the Eagles lost the game. “No, we’re not giving that to anybody. We control the outcome, we made enough mistakes,” Kelce said. “If we were to fix that stuff up, we win that game regardless of what happens with the field, anything.”
