Jason Whitlock BOLDLY claims Aaron Rodgers won’t imitate Tom Brady-like success with the Jets
Tom Brady proved that he was in fact the GOAT when he won his 7th Super Bowl in his first season with the Buccaneers.

Aaron Rodgers shocked the NFL world when he finally made his move to the New York Jets, leaving behind the Packers after 18 years. A few years back, legendary quarterback Tom Brady made a similar move when he left behind the Patriots to join the Buccaneers, and everyone knows what follows next. With the 4x NFL MVP joining the Jets, everyone in the league is expecting him to win the Super Bowl just like Tom Brady did. However, sports columnist Jason Whitlock feels that Rodgers won’t have the same success as the 7x Super Bowl champion.
Whitlock recently appeared on the Fearless podcast and talked about Aaron Rodgers in New York. He said, “Football’s just not that important to him at this time. I think at this age, it has to be that important to him for him to have a super-high level of success. When you’re younger, with a team that you’ve been established with for 15-16 years.
Whitlock continued, “But he’s going into a whole new environment with an organization that hasn’t had a lot of success. If he’s not gonna be all about football the way Tom Brady was when he hit Tampa with a chip on his shoulder and something to prove, I’m not sure it’s gonna work in New York.”
Tom Brady was a different breed altogether. After playing for the New England Patriots for two decades and establishing the Patriots dynasty, Brady made his move to Tampa Bay in 2020. In his first season with the team, Brady won his 7th Super Bowl and elevated himself up to another realm. One has to wonder that if Rodgers made it to the Super Bowl just once in 15 years with the Packers, would he be able to do it in one season with the Jets?

Can Aaron Rodgers make it in New York?
Rodgers had one of his worst seasons in Green Bay last year. Despite being in an easy division, Rodgers failed to lead the Packers to the playoffs. The Packers did have an average roster last year with no notable receivers, but with a quarterback like Rodgers, it was expected that he would elevate his team but unfortunately, that didn’t happen.
The New York Jets, on the other hand, have a solid roster both on offense and defense. The Jets have the OROY Garrett Wilson as well as DROY Sauce Gardner and have added a lot of star power in the offseason. Everyone, including the Jets, are hoping that the 39-year-old superstar will end their 12-year playoff drought and lead them straight to the Super Bowl.
However, it’s easier said than done. Contrary to the NFC, the AFC is much tougher to win given the talent it houses. Winning in the playoffs will be a herculean task, but for someone like Aaron Rodgers, it is nothing new, at least that’s what everyone is expecting.
The Jets had a 7-10 record last season with a lot of turmoil in the locker room regarding the quarterback situation. Everyone on the roster is extremely elated with the arrival of Rodgers and already has great odds of winning the Super Bowl. Every eye in the league will be on Aaron Rodgers in the 2023 season. His legacy will definitely be brought into question if he fails to lead the Jets to the Super Bowl.
