After a stellar senior year at Arizona State of logging more yards of the total offense of 4,946, Jayden Daniels announced his transfer to the LSU Tigers in 2021. Within just two years, the star quarterback became the winner of the Heisman award and is soon to be making his debut in the NFL.
However, when his teammates at ASU got the news of Daniels entering the NCAA Transfer portal. They didn’t seem happy even a little bit. In fact, they wasted no time and went straight to the locker room and cleaned out his locker on his behalf.
Recently, as the quarterback won the Heisman winner among many worthy honorees, a video resurfaced on the internet where Daniels’ ex-teammates are seen cleaning out the quarterback’s locker in a quite disgruntled way. One ASU player shouted, “Clean that sh** out, n**** sucks anyway,” while the others were taking Daniels’ things.
Daniels began his Sun Devil career at Arizona State with a phenomenal year where he recorded completing more than 60% of his passes for 2,943 yards and 17 touchdowns with just two interceptions. The team as a whole put together an 8-5 season, in which Daniels came out shinning as the most dangerous rushing quarterback with 710 rushing yards and six touchdowns. However, in later years, his numbers started regressing as he threw for ten interceptions and 10 touchdowns in the following year.
Why did Jayden Daniels leave Arizona State to join LSU?
Quarterback Daniels’ decision to transfer from Arizona State was influenced by controversy back in June 2021, when the university was said to be under NCAA investigation for bringing recruits on campus during the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic when there was a mandated recruiting dead period.

Several emails were found where Regina Jackson and Daniels’ mother allegedly helped in booking more than $1,100 in flights to call recruits with their guardians. Though Jackson defined the involvement, there was no implication for Daniels’ involvement in the whole saga. As the investigation finished, the Sun Devils faced a great struggle on the recruiting trail as well as the transfer portal by losing 17 players.
However, one of the biggest losses was three-year starter Daniels, who announced his transfer in December 2021 and entered the transfer port in February 2022. After two weeks, Daniels signed with LSU who hired a new coach Brian Kelly, who was looking to replace their starter, Max Johnson.
